Group I
Base Oil SN-350
Mid-viscosity Group I solvent neutral between SN-150 and SN-500.
What is Base Oil SN-350?
Base oil SN-350 is a mid-viscosity Group I solvent-neutral base oil supplied by Synergysol Trading. SN 350 is the cut lubricant blenders use when SN-150 is lighter than the formula and SN-500 is heavier. It is a feedstock for mid-viscosity engine oils, circulating oils, and industrial lubricants.
Solvent neutral means solvent extraction and dewaxing of a petroleum distillate. API Group I is that category: viscosity index from 80 to 120, saturates below 90%, and sulfur above 0.03%. SN-350 is published at 75 cSt at 40°C and 8–9.3 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 95, flash point 220°C, and pour point −6°C. SN-150 is the light grade at 5.4–7 cSt at 100°C. SN-500 is the heavy grade at 9.5–11.2 cSt at 100°C.
Applications
Synergysol Trading supplies base oil SN-350 for the viscosity band between the light and heavy solvent neutrals.
Mid-viscosity engine oils. Conventional gasoline and diesel formulas use SN-350 when the finished oil sits between an SN-150 blend and an SN-500 blend.
Industrial circulating oils. Circulating systems that specify a mid-range Group I viscosity are blended on this solvent neutral.
Hydraulic and gear oils. A hydraulic or gear blend that is too heavy for SN-150 and too light for SN-500 names SN-350.
Named SN-350 formulas. Where the customer specification says Group I SN-350, this is the base oil on the order.
