What is Bitumen 80/100?
Bitumen 80/100 supplied by Synergysol Trading is the softer penetration grade. Penetration at 25°C is 80–100 mm/10. The softening point is a minimum of 42°C. Flash point is a minimum of 230°C and ductility at 25°C is a minimum of 100 cm.
Specific gravity at 25°C is 1.01–1.05. Loss on heating is a maximum of 0.5%. Dynamic viscosity at 60°C is 100 ± 20 Pa·s. Solubility is a minimum of 99.0%.
Applications
Synergysol Trading supplies bitumen 80/100 where the paving or membrane specification names the softer penetration grade.
Hot-mix asphalt. Roads in milder service specify penetration 80–100.
Waterproofing membranes. The softer grade suits membranes that name 80/100.
Coatings. Protective coatings that want a more flexible binder use 80/100.
Emulsion feedstock. Emulsion plants order 80/100 as the base binder.
