What is Heavy Rubber Process Oil?
Heavy rubber process oil is an aromatic extender oil supplied by Synergysol Trading for tire tread, carcass, and industrial rubber that need a heavier oil than the light grade. Kinematic viscosity at 100°C is 35 cSt minimum. The oil stays in the compound after cure.
Density is 1.05 g/cm³ at 100°C, the flash point is 200–230°C, and the refractive index is 1.56. Light RPO stops at 35 cSt maximum, with density 1.01 g/cm³ and refractive index 1.55.
Applications
Synergysol Trading supplies heavy rubber process oil for compounds that specify the higher-viscosity aromatic extender.
Tire tread and carcass. Tread and carcass compounds use heavy RPO when the extender has to be the heavier aromatic oil.
Sidewall and bead. Formulas that name a heavy aromatic rubber process oil take this grade.
Belts, hoses, and molded goods. Industrial rubber with a heavy-oil specification is filled with heavy RPO.
Viscosity at 35 cSt minimum. Where kinematic viscosity at 100°C is 35 cSt minimum, heavy RPO is the grade.
