Waxes
Light Slack Wax
Light slack wax, 10–14% oil, from solvent dewaxing.
What is Light Slack Wax?
Light slack wax supplied by Synergysol Trading is the lower-oil slack wax from solvent dewaxing. Oil content is 10–14%. The melting point is a minimum of 56°C. Kinematic viscosity at 100°C is a maximum of 5 cSt. The Cleveland open-cup flash point is a minimum of 190°C and color is a maximum of 1.
Wax refiners use the lighter slack wax as a feedstock for paraffin. Board and emulsion plants use it when the formula wants less oil than heavy slack wax. Paraffin wax on this range is 3–5 wt% oil.
Applications
Synergysol Trading supplies light slack wax for refining and for industrial emulsions that specify 10–14% oil.
Paraffin refining. Refiners take light slack wax as a feedstock with 10–14% oil.
Particle-board and panel emulsions. Emulsion plants use this oil content when heavy slack wax would be too oily.
Industrial blends. Formulas that name a light slack wax, rather than paraffin, are supplied from this grade.
Melting point of at least 56°C. The grade is the slack wax held to that melting point, with color at a maximum of 1.
