Waxes
Paraffin Wax
Paraffin wax with oil content 3–5 wt%, for candles, coatings, and wax blends.
What is Paraffin Wax?
Paraffin wax from Synergysol Trading is the solid petroleum wax used in candles, packaging coatings, and industrial wax blends. Oil content is 3–5 wt%. Kinematic viscosity at 100°C is 5.98 cSt. The Cleveland open-cup flash point is a minimum of 200°C. Color is 1.5 and the refractive index at 70°C is 1.43.
Oil content sets hardness and how the wax behaves in a candle or a coating. Refractive index and color place the wax against the formula. Light slack wax and heavy slack wax are the oilier dewaxing grades, supplied separately.
Applications
Synergysol Trading supplies paraffin wax for candles, coatings, and industrial blends that specify this oil content.
Candles. Candle plants match paraffin wax on oil content, with 3–5 wt% oil on this grade.
Paper and packaging coatings. Coating lines use paraffin when the sheet takes a wax at this viscosity and flash point.
Crayons, polishes, and wax blends. These formulas specify paraffin rather than slack wax.
Industrial wax uses. Where the specification names paraffin wax, this grade is the one with 5.98 cSt at 100°C and refractive index 1.43 at 70°C.

Other grades in this range
These are other grades Synergysol Trading supplies. The figures in this section belong to those grades.
Light slack wax carries 10–14% oil and a melting point of at least 56°C. Heavy slack wax carries 16–23% oil. Residue wax carries 45–60% oil.
