Base Oil Group II N500

Heavy Group II base oil for engine oils, gear oils, and industrial lubricants.

What is Base Oil Group II N500?

Base oil N500 is the heavy Group II base oil supplied by Synergysol Trading. Engine-oil, gear-oil, marine, and industrial blenders use it when the formula calls for a hydroprocessed neutral in the heavy band. API Group II is defined by saturates of at least 90%, sulfur of 0.03% or below, and a viscosity index from 80 to 120.

The Group I base oil in this commercial band is SN-500, published at 9.5–11.2 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 89, flash point 240°C, and pour point −6°C. Group II base oil N500 is the hydroprocessed counterpart, published at 85.8 mm²/s at 40°C and flash point 265°C. Group III 8 cSt is the high-viscosity-index heavy grade, and bright stock BS-150 is 476.2 mm²/s at 40°C.

Applications

Synergysol Trading supplies Group II base oil N500 for heavy lubricants written on a hydroprocessed neutral.

Diesel and gasoline engine oils. Heavy engine-oil formulas use N500 as the main Group II base oil.

Gear and transmission oils. Gear oils that specify Group II in the heavy band are blended on N500.

Marine lubricants. Marine engine and system oils use this heavy hydroprocessed neutral when the formula is Group II.

Heavy industrial circulating oils. Loaded circulating systems in this viscosity band name N500.
