Group III
Base Oil Group III 4 cSt
Group III 4 cSt base oil for passenger-car engine oils and light industrial lubricants.
What is Base Oil Group III 4 cSt?
Group III 4 cSt base oil is the light-to-mid viscosity class supplied by Synergysol Trading for modern engine-oil formulas. The name is the kinematic viscosity class at 100°C. API Group III base oil is severely hydroprocessed: viscosity index of 120 or higher, saturates of at least 90%, and sulfur of 0.03% or below.
Passenger-car engine oils use this class as the main light stock. Automatic transmission fluids and light industrial oils use it for the same reason. Group II N150 is the Group II grade in a similar commercial band. Group I SN-150 is published at 5.4–7 cSt at 100°C and viscosity index 95.
Applications
Synergysol Trading supplies Group III 4 cSt base oil for passenger-car engine oils and light industrial lubricants.
Passenger-car engine oils. Gasoline and light diesel formulas use 4 cSt Group III when the approval calls for a viscosity index of 120 or higher.
Automatic transmission fluids. ATF blends name this viscosity class when the base oil is Group III.
Light hydraulic and industrial oils. Light industrial lubricants that have moved up from Group II use 4 cSt Group III.
Named 4 cSt formulas. Where the specification says Group III 4 cSt base oil, this is the grade on the order.
